Zoê Kravitz recreated her mom’s Rolling Stone cover

Zoe Kravitz is the spitting image of her mother, Lisa Boner, in her recent cover shoot for Rolling Stone. Lisa Bonet posed nude for Rolling Stone's Hot Issue back in 1988.

"I’ve always loved that cover so much," Kravitz told the mag. When I think of 'Rolling Stone,' that’s always the image that pops into my head. It’s a really striking image of her. It’s beautiful." Bonet, now 50, was 20 years old when she went au naturel for her Rolling Stone shoot for the May 1988 issue.

Unlike Kravitz, Bonet was only partially nude on the cover of Rolling Stone.
The magazine, three decades ago, opted to run Lisa's fully nude photos hidden within the issue.
Lisa is said to have felt a ‘little bummed’ that a completely nude photograph from inside the issue wasn’t placed on the cover instead. ‘I think she was a little bummed when they used the shirt picture as the cover,’ Zoë said. ‘I think she just thought, ‘I’m doing it, let’s do it!”’ So Zoë decided she wanted to do the cover her mom wanted but didn’t get. ‘It’s less about the picture and more about doing the thing my mom intended to do. That feels cool.’

In the video below The Rolling Stone cover, star talks about being starstruck by the Spice Girls at the VMAs, smoking weed when she was 14 and how she's often embarrassed by her ultra-cool parents, Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet.
