Ultra sensitive skin -Rosacea

by Andreea Oncioiu • 20 Jan 2017

Rosacea is thought to have a strong genetic link; medics agree that sufferers are born with inefficient veins, which gives them a propensity to flush. It is most common in middle age, in those with fair skin.

As well as flushing, complication can include spots, broken blood vessels, inflammation on the eyelids and thickening of the skin on the nose.

Triggers include alcohol, caffeine, spicy foods, heat, hot drinks, stress and sunlight.

Even with the best products in the world, Rosacea is as much about vigilance and skincare technique.

The standard treatment is a cream containing the antibiotic metronidazole, which works by killing bacteria. Another option is Azeliac acid, compound found in wheat, rye and barley, which kills bacteria as reducing the growth of certain surface skin cells that can block, pores and cause spots.

Aloe is a proven miracle treatment option as well.

In addition to repairing and healing externally, topical application of aloe also works as detoxifying agent under the skin, which doubles the healing of rosacea symptoms.

Here are some creams with great reviews from our editor:

  1. Clarins Sensitive Skin Beauty Repair
  2. La Roche Posay’s Rosalic Ar Intense
  3. Elemis Daily redness Solution
  4. Avene Diroseal Anti-Redness Skincare
