10 trends from the runway of NYFW's FW20

Fashion is a simple rule of threes, they say. As we make our way through the New York collections, we see trends slowly rise, from slick materials to the return of the fanny pack frenzy. Will they become staples of the season?

As we’ve passed the halfway point of the New York Fashion Week and fresh trends are either still emerging or solidifying their place in the sartorial stratosphere.

ALL BLACK GRUNGE GLAM

Grunge glam is totally a thing.

SHINY AF

Slick materials, metallic threads, and 3M reflective made the runways of NYFW shiny AF this season.

FANNY PACK FRENZY

This is not your neon vinyl fanny pack from the 80s/90s.These season fanny packs were in traditional silhouettes made from repurposed material, mini canteens, and jumbo-sized bags...this trend is here in a BIG way.

FRINGE

Nothing gives you more movements on the runway than a fringe moment.

COLOR EXPLOSION

Vibrant colors for fall and a lot of them.

PUFFER POWER

Nothing’s warmer and cozier than a puffer jacket in the winter. Designers reimagined the traditional puffer and brought us not only puffer jackets, but gowns, scarves, and puffed up sleeves.
